Wan's Ancient Beasts expands on the archaeology system by adding prehistoric creatures like the Glider, Soarer, and Walker. You find their eggs by excavating new structures or dig sites, and each beast has unique uses like early-game flight or four-player transport. It even includes gear like the Hang Glider and Ancient Club to give your world a proper "ancient past" vibe. It's out for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 and adds a ton of life to the game’s fossils and ruins.
Apotheosis Modern Ragnarok [1.21.1] [1.20.1] [1.18.2]
If you're already running Apotheosis and TaCZ, you're kind of doing it wrong if you don't have this. It basically bridges the two mods so your guns get all those crazy RPG-style rarities and affixes that used to be just for swords and armor. The best part is that it isn't just a lazy port; it adds gun-specific stuff you actually care about. You can get "Frugality" to stop wasting so much ammo or find enchants that let you literally shred through enemy armor. Watching a gun drop with a Mythical or Ancient rarity feels so good because it opens up more affix slots and cranks the stats through the roof. It’s on Forge 1.20.1, but obviously, you need both base mods for any of this to work. It’s perfect if you want to turn Minecraft into a looter-shooter where even a basic handgun can end up being a legendary boss-killer.
Create: Ornithopter Glider [1.21.1] [1.20.1]
Ditch the firework-spamming Elytra and fly like a steampunk legend! Create: Ornithopter Glider adds Da Vinci-inspired wings that actually feel mechanical. I slapped these on my Curios back slot, and the custom flapping animations are pure eye candy. By holding Space, you charge up a manual boost–no rockets needed, just raw kinetic energy! You’ll need a Mechanical Crafter to build it, making it a legit reward for your tech grind. It’s available for Forge 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.21.1. Just don't forget Caelus API and Curios to get airborne. Engineering has never felt so majestic!
